There are three types of diabetesâType 1, which used to be called juvenile diabetes; Type 2, sometimes referred to as adult on-set diabetes; and Type 3, gestational diabetes. All three of these types can require insulin in varying doses, dependent on the patientâs glucose levels combined with life style factors.
Many times, medications can be nice to have, but insulin is a must have in order for the person to survive. Recently, insulin prices have been soaring. What can be done regarding insulin prices, or providing assistance to patients who cannot afford the new prices? Do you think society has an obligation to provide life-saving medications regardless of the price?
