Why are laws and regulations important to the health care industry?
What do you believe has the biggest impact on laws and regulations in the health care industry?

3. The following are a few federal regulations that impact health care, the first in which you mention:

· The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)
· COBRA
· The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)
· The Start Law
· The Anti-Kickback Statute
The above are only a few laws that impact health care. All are written with the intent to protect the patient, as well as the health care organization. These laws are pretty obvious as to how they protect the patient and these laws assist in negating the negligence and malpractice lawsuits for the health care organization too.
