So far in this course, you have studied the foundations of key figures and systems in the field of psychology. Choose one of the following three prompts and write a 750 to 1000-word essay examining these psychological theories.

Choose one of the following prompts to examine in your essay:
1. Pavlov’s classical conditioning theory examined associating two stimuli to produce the desired outcome. In your essay, define Pavlov’s classical conditioning theory and provide two real-life examples of its application – for example, in the training of pets or establishing helpful routines for young children. What is beneficial about applying this theory? What could be dangerous about real-life applications of classical conditioning?
2. Carl Stumpf, Oswald Kulpe, and Wilhelm Wundt all explored the idea that each individual perceives and processes the world differently. In your essay, define phenomenology and introspection, provide two real-life examples of their application (such as differing preferences in food or weather), and discuss how they have shaped the modern view of the self. What is beneficial about applying this theory? What are the risks involved in applying this theory to real life?
