You will choose
a disease/disorder that has been covered in this course and prepare PPT slides
presenting the disease
process and other relevant
information. It is recommended that you choose a disease/disorder that is
relevant to your specialty, one that you have encountered during your practice
or one that is close to home, one that you have interest in exploring further
for its current evidence and knowledge.
Some examples of
a disease/disorder could be include renal disease, specific type of cancer,
diabetes, endocrine disorder, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease,
clotting problems, immunocompromise, inflammation, infection. You may not use the disease from the problem-based learning, however.
In your presentation, you will review the pathophysiology of the disease
process and present a current review of the disease process and/or
review of disease-related evidence- based knowledge/practice. Therefore, you
should be able to find such information (especially evidence-based aspect) on
the disease/disorder you choose for this PPT.
Ø
No minimum number
of slides is required. You use your own judgment
and use as many sides as you
need to present all the information you need to present and cover all the
bases. Keep in mind you are presenting a story.
Ø
Make sure you are clear about what you present
on each slide. Each slide must have a heading to
indicate what is being presented. While you should
not pack each slide with words (and not the entire paragraph),
you should present enough information for readers to clearly understand your
presentation.
Ø
Make sure your presentation flows well from slide to slide and is free from plagiarism, with no misspellings or
grammatical errors.
