Part three:
Describe the program budget and use of
resources
Include the line-item budget for the program
indicating revenues and expenses.
Provide your assessment of the budget’s sufficiency to cover program
expenses. If components are missing,
propose additional revenue needed and expenses to support program activity.
If you cannot find the program
budget and have not spoken to program personnel regarding the budget, propose a
reasonable line-item budget for the program.
Describe the program evaluation (process
and outcome)
How is the program measuring
whether it is achieving its process objectives?
How will the program assess whether it achieves the outcome
objectives? If the data are insufficient propose data and
data collection strategies needed for formative and summative evaluation. You do not need to discuss impact evaluation.
Are the measures to assess
outcomes reasonable and measure what they are intended to measure. For example, if your program is targeting
reducing delinquency, would juvenile arrest records be an accurate measure? Most likely not, because they only report on
chargeable offenses recognized by authorities and are compounded by arrest
practices.
Discuss
threats to the validity and generalizability of the program
Is the program well designed and
could it be replicated, with minor modifications to address the same/similar
issue in another setting? Why or why
not.
*If program components are missing or insufficient, make recommendations to strengthen the components.
Limit each section to 3-5 pages, single-spaced in APA format. The page limit does not include the title page, references, and appendices.
