Mental health disorders in children are generally defined as delays or disruptions in cognitive development, behaviors, social skills or regulation of emotions. These problems are distressing to children, and disrupt their ability to function well at home, in school, or in other social situations.
Assignment: Choose one childhood psychiatric disorder, and write a 4-page paper (1 title page + 4 content pages + 1 reference page). For your paper, indicate the following: a) definition of disorder, b) symptoms c) onset, d) prevalence (statistics), and e) treatment. This paper is required, and worth 15% towards your course grade. Please be sure to follow the specific guidelines, checklist, and the rubric for the paper—posted in Blackboard.
