Students will select a character who is struggling from addiction from a movie or television show and compose a 3 to 5 page case analysis. Papers should include: The history and dynamics of the case, the client’s current stage of change, issues related to motivation and engagement of the client in the process of change, develop a plan for working with this client if you encountered them while working as a mental health professional, discuss possible barriers to a successful outcome (I.E. relapse), and considerations for the way in which diversity issues might bear upon assessment, engagement, and service/treatment plan.
