Idea: The implementation of universal healthcare in
the United States could not only lower the costs of healthcare overall, but it
can also lead to improvements in the quality of care and increased longevity of
life.
Benefits: Longevity of life due to easy access to care, cheaper healthcare overall as the
standard of care will not be changed by different insurance company policies,
and improved quality of care as every patient will have access to the same
resources
Counterargument:
One downside to universal healthcare
that many fear is the possibility of a healthy individual ultimately “paying”
for the care of someone in need.
