Open your textbook and find 5+ theories or concepts that you observed/heard evidence of in the person observed/interviewed.
Write a breif paragraph explaining who you observed/interviewed.
Write one paragraph for each theory/concept that applies to the person you observed/interviewed –
start with a clear explanation of the theory/concept (bold the name of the theory/concept),
continue by explaining what aspect of the theory/concept applies, and
then write 3-4 sentences explaining what evidence of it you heard in your observation/interview. This will include a description of the behaviors you observed or the statements you heard that relate to the theory or concept.
Rubric for Grading
You will be graded on how well you apply theories and concepts from the text to the person you observed or interviewed. Do not submit a paper that only describes the person. That is not what this assignment is about.
Points will be deducted for grammatical and spelling errors. These grades assume you have submitted a proofread paper with few or no grammatical or spelling errors.
An “A” paper of 27-30 points provides the observation/interview data as well as 5+ theories/concepts from the text. There is an attempt to provide a developmental explanation by making reference to the appropriate psychological theories/concepts. There is a discussion of the significant of 5+ theories/concepts and how it relates to the behaviors observed or what the person said.
