For this assignment, you will be locating your legislator and writing a letter related to an issue you selected for the Discussion Board in Module Five. The issue you are writing about does NOT have to be a bill sponsored by your legislator, you are writing to ask for support, reintroduction, etc. of a specific bill number.
You may use a template (search Google) for addressing the letter and describing your issue. Tips For Writing Your Legislator (Links to an external site.)
first paragraph you may wish to include personal information
second paragraph include facts
third paragraph state what you are asking for
The letter should include the following content
statistics related to the issue – include a minimum of 3 cited statistics (15 pts)
identify 3 ways this affects nursing practice (15pts)
what you would like the legislator to do related to the issue. (15 pts)
If there is an actual Bill already in process refer to the Bill by the correct number. Include 2 scholarly sources 5 years old or less cited in correct APA format to support your position (25 pts)
