Observation of infants or toddlers
The goal of this assignment is learn more about
infant/toddler behavior by conducting a naturalistic observation and making
connections with course material you have been learning.
You are asked to observe at least 2 children under the age
of 3 years. You can observe children that you personally know (e.g. nieces,
nephews) in person or through video conferencing, in public places such as
stores (though you might have less luck with this during the pandemic) or
search for a YouTube video.
You should observe for different aspects of motor,
cognitive, social and language development and then relate them to at least
three specific course concepts or principles from the textbook.
