The purpose of this assignment is to acquaint you to nursing leadership and management competencies as established by the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL)
As the voice for nursing leadership, the AONL collaborates with the American Hospital Association to ensures the perspective of nurse leaders are heard and addressed in issues related to nursing, patient care, and public policy.
Assignment Instructions
Review the nurse management competencies attached below.
Choose one (1) of the competencies that stands out to you as especially meaningful to yourself as a nurse leader (remember: all nurses are leaders – informal or formal!).
Compose a 250 (minimum) word post that explains to the rest of the class why you chose this particular competency.
Use your own thoughts and ideas, but also use a minimum of two (2) relevant sources to support your writing.
References should be current (ideally within 5 years, but no more than 10).
It is OK if you select a competency selected by other classmates.
Refer to the discussion rubric as you compose your posts.
During week 2, respond to at least one (1) of your peers using at least one (1) different scholarly reference to support your ideas.
Post your initial post and response post by the due dates outlined in the course calendar.
