5 – Describe the relationship among nursing theory, nursing research and nursing practice.
Enabling Objectives:
Upon completion of this lesson, the student will be able to
Differentiate among the nursing philosophies, conceptual models, and theories
Cite the components of the metaparadigm for the nursing discipline
Discuss the relational triad of theory, research, and practice in nursing.
Discuss one specific nursing theory and information about that theory/model from at least two journal articles
Perform a literature search in the CSUDH online databases
Use Turnitin and interpret the similarity report produced
Rubric:
Proficiently described insights about the theory. Analysis of research article: – How theory was used in the research – Aspect of theory used in study – Implication of study findings for nursing practice Analysis of non-research article: – Purpose of article and how it assisted in your understanding of the theory Reflection on whether student would use theory in own practice (with rationale).
