Entry 3: A systematic plan to maintain quality in any organization is essential. Reflecting on your organization and work environment, briefly describe the quality improvement process your organization uses. Does your practice setting have a formal quality committee? In what ways are nurses involved in quality committees? How are issues brought to the attention of the quality committee?
In what ways do you think the quality improvement process could be improved or in what ways do you think the quality improvement process is adequate or exceptional? Why would you want to or not want to serve on an organization-wide quality committee? (500-700 words in length)
*** FYI: I’m a nurse manager that supervises medical assistants, phlebotomists, and LPN/RN. I work at a health care center that provides services to the regular and uninsured population such as family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, lab ,and urgent care.
