Purpose: Nurses care for persons of childbearing age from every culture around the world. Undertanding the traditions and practices of a patient’s culture is paramount to providing safe and approprite culturally sensitive care. This assignment allows the student the opportunity to explore in-depth the practices and traditions surrounding pregnancy, birth and the post partum period of a culture of their choosing. Requirements: American Psychological Association (APA) (7th ed.) formatting and citations will be used for the assignment. Paper must be 2-3 pages in lenth (not including title page), double spaced, with at least 2 recent evidence based, peer reviewed articles sited.
