Chapter 1 in Marshall and Broome discuss
historical nursing leaders include Lillian Wald, Florence Nightengale, and
Isabel Hamptom Robb. Reflect upon your own nursing journey. Identify a key figure whom you associate as a transformational nursing leader and
discuss this person. Who were/are they? What did you learn from them?
What qualities made them a transformational leader and provide examples of
these qualities? Can you link their actions/qualities to a specific
leadership theory? How did their influence impact your own leadership
style? What was their “why?”
This is a start . throughout my nursing journey I have came across several great leaders . One in particular was a a Doctor by the name of Billy Hutchins . He grew up in poverty and faced several adversities but still prevailed. He was always smiling , bedside manners were amazing and he was always willing to teach.
