Clinical Trials: Exploring The Clinical Trials Website
The Clinical Trials website (https://clinicaltrials.gov/) is a registry, and results database of publicly and privately supported clinical studies of human participants conducted around the world. Search that website for trials on Heart and Blood diseases. (Hint: Click the “Find Studies” tab and then “Studies by Topic”). Then answer these questions:
Which disease or condition category has the most clinical trials?
Which “heart and blood” disease or condition has the most clinical trials?
Then under the “Find Studies”, click the “See Studies on Map” or “On Map” tab. You may drill down on a region on the map and get a sub-map with the countries in that region of the world. For fairness in comparison, we will consider the United States as a region and compare each of the States (in the US) to the countries in other regions.
