Assessment Description
In this topic, you will participate with your full DPI committee in the DPI Project Proposal Defense call. This meeting requires that you present your revised DPI Project Proposal live in PowerPoint form as it stands at this time.
General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:
Reference the “DNP Project Proposal Oral Defense Template” for guidance in completing this assignment.
Set up a date convenient for the committee to conduct the defense using a web meeting platform. Plan for a maximum of 30 minutes to present the proposal.
Document committee approval for the proposal using the DNP Committee Approval form in the DNP 960 folder.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance.
Directions:
Using the “DNP Project Proposal Oral Defense Template” as your guide, create a PowerPoint presentation of your DPI Project Proposal, to be used during your DPI Project Proposal Defense call.
Note: The speaker notes must contain a detailed script of your presentation, as if you were verbally presenting. The speaker notes must include embedded citations supporting your presentation.
Schedule a conference call using a free webinar service (such as Skype or Zoom) with your full DPI committee. In Week 1, schedule this call to take place in Week 2.
Present the revised Project Proposal PowerPoint to your full DPI committee.
Submit the completed PowerPoint presentation to your DPI chairperson.
Submit the DNP Committee Approval Form to the Committee for Signature. This form must be submitted with your GCU IRB application.
Submit a signed QI Self-Certification Form. This form must be submitted with your GCU IRB application.
Here are a few gentle reminders of the expectations of assignments for the program.
· All scholarly papers must be submitted using the University template. This includes a title page and reference page. The assignment does not require an abstract.
· All scholarly papers must include an Introduction that includes the purpose of the paper or a thesis statement. Tell the reader about your topic and what the paper will discuss. The body of the paper should include the headings.
· A conclusion, which is a summary for the reader. Include the DNP nurse’s role. Papers submitted without these components will have points deducted.
Please follow the rubric for grading and include the grading topics as headings in your paper. This will ensure that you have addressed all the required topics. I look forward to reading your paper
