For this assignment, I’d like you to search the internet (or your environment) for an image or video that represents social marketing in a way related to health. You will then evaluate the audience and 4 P’s of this image/video.
Remember, social marketing occurs when we use marketing principles to promote something for the greater good (e.g., anti-tobacco ads). This is not the same as promoting a health-related product (e.g., weight-loss supplements) or using charity to sell products (e.g., Tom’s shoes buy a pair give a pair).
You can choose to do this assignment using the topic you’ve used for your Needs Assessment or Program Description papers, or you can choose your own.
What to Include
In complete sentences, complete the following:
1. Find an image or video that demonstrates social marketing in a way related to health. Include the link, screen shot, or image here. (2 point)
2. Identify the audience for this image/video. (2 point)
3. Product – what is the product in this image/video? Remember, when using social marketing for health our product may be a behavior or an idea, or a tangible product. (4 points)
4. Promotion – what is the message in this image/video? (4 points)
5. Price – what is the “price” of this product? If the product is a behavior, consider what it will cost to do this behavior. Remember this is not always a financial amount. (4 points)
6. Place – where is this product being promoted? Why is this the appropriate place? (4 points)
