Some examples include stressors related to school, work, relationships (but do not go too in-depth/personal if discussing this; can be personal/romantic, family, or friendships), etc. Once you choose and briefly (2-4 sentences) discuss your stressor, answer the following questions:
1) What is a stress reaction? How do you react to your chosen stressor when it creates a stress response for you?
2) When coping with your stressor, do you utilize more problem-focused coping strategies or emotion-focused coping strategies? Describe your coping strategies in your response. Do you believe your coping strategies work, from a subjective viewpoint (i.e., your opinion if they work) and after reviewing when they are most appropriately used as per the lecture/textbook?
3) Does social support play a role in coping with your stressor? How? Why or why not? If social support does not play a role in coping with your stressor, do you think social support would benefit you in any way?
