Hey there,
I need a final paper for my medical ethics class. It is a nice topic that I wish I had time to write about. Anyways, I want the paper to discuss the considerations beyond the right to a decent minimum of Healthcare. The paper should start by setting the stage for the debate around whether there is a Universal right to a minimum decent of Healthcare or not. To do so, there are two sources that I will add at the end of the order. the first one is by Buchanan and it discusses that there is no universal to healthcare and the other one is by norman daniels who argues that there is a right to healthcare according the Rawls justice theory. After discussing the two texts. I would like the paper to state the position that there is a universal right to health care is a stronger one, and introduce that as a prove of that we can think about european states as an example of countries that grant their citizins a universal right to health care. After discussing this, the essay should go on to suggest that the debate around a decent minimum of healthcare should be introduced differently in differnt context. what I mean by this is that for example in some places like the US where Healthcare is not accessible to everyone and is not granted by the state the discussion should be around whether around if healthcare is a right or not. while in other places like europe the debate should be centred around whther the decent minimum is enough to grant people good overall health and treat them with dignity. here a third Source could be introduced the discusses the Idea of a Just minmum of Healthcare in Comparison to a Decent minimum of Healthcare. after discussing this, Another consideration should be addressed of foreigners/redidents and healthcare; what I mean here is whether the right to healthcare should be extended to residents and migrants or not ( Here the prudential argument by Buchanan Could be used). I hope these will be enough Ideas. After discussing these points and some extra ones, the essay can conclude that the debate around Helathcare is differnt from a context to another. And that things to be considered are whether the decent minmum is enough, and that the question of residents/ Foregners/ migrants should be addressed if they are included in the decent minimum or not.
