I am Colombian and my religious affiliation is Catholic. This activity is to compare the cultural or ethnic differences of the group that you have grown up in and become accustom to with others that you may have experienced at some time in your life.
Instructions:
PART 1 – The first part of the assignment is to fill out the Sociocultural Aspects: Self-Assessment form Sociocultural Aspects: Self-Assessment form – Alternative Formats to identify your habits, thoughts, ideas about death. Several questions will help you to identify the ideas that you have become so familiar with because your family identifies with that group and as a matter of tradition you and your family members follow.
PART 2 – Once you have completed that aspect of the assignment, the next part is to research the reasoning and ideas that are part of that ethnic or racial or religious group that you identify with to give the reader of your paper or work an idea why, where or when some of these customs began and possible rationales for them. In writing the paper please portray your experiences along with the group that you identify with, and the comfort level and possible deviation to that grand scheme you or your family has experienced, when dealing with death or dying.
Your paper should:
be three (3) pages (excluding the title, abstract and reference pages)
be typed according to APA style for margins, formating and spacing standards have at least three sources of which at least two are from peer reviewed journals
be typed into a Microsoft Word document, save the file, and then upload the file
