We will write a custom essay on your topic tailored to your instructions!

Instructions: Propose one follow-up study that addresses the same general issue, but which uses a completely differentapproach/neuroscience research method (Research Proposal). (This is one part of a team paper being written with other people) In your proposal, state what your new question is, explain your new method/approach (be sure to include what measures you are analyzing), what findings you predict you will find, and what these findings might mean for the larger issue. Importantly, you must also justify why your study may lead to important findings. That is, what is the significance of the question/hypothesis? Justify your choice of method/approach (why choose that method to study your question?) Include at least 2 additional references in this section of your paper to help answer these questions. This portion of your paper should take about 2-3 pages. Propose only one study; do not describe all your ideas, just the best one. The follow-up study must be an entirely different approach than that of the target article, but must still focus on the general research topic/questions addressed in the group study that the paper is being based off of. (Background).
Research paper proposal:
Research Question: How is memory affected in humans with hippocampal damage?
a. Study Design: Taking participants who have had hippocampal damage and studying their spatial memory.
b. Method:
there will be a room set up like a kitchen with 5 objects placed in certain
participants will walk into the room and have 5 minutes to observe the room, find the items, and try to remember the 5 objects in the room.
We will then take them out of the room for about 10 minutes. They will then come back into the room and have them remember where the objects were placed. If they don’t remember, we will keep re-doing the experiment until the participants finally remember where the 5 objects are located.
We will measure how many times the participants have to go back into the room to finally solidify the memory of the objects.
The participants without the hippocampal damage will go through the same experiment. Our hypothesis is that the people without hippocampal damage will most likely get this on the first try.
Experimental Group: 10 patients who have hippocampal damage
Control Group: 10 patients who do not have hippocampal damage
Behavior and Brain measures analyzed:
Behavior measured: Spatial learning and location
Brain measure: Medial temporal lobe, which includes the hippocampus, amygdala, and surrounding neocortex
Questions to edit proposal to fit research being studied:
What are your brain measures, exactly? Are you using EEG? fMRI? If using fMRI, you will need to do a virtual task to examine brain activity changes during the task.. you can’t have them walk around while in a scanner.
