Introduction
It is important for a leader in an organization to pursue a path of continuous professional development and improvement. A substantial part of this endeavor includes self-awareness with regard to how the leader views the external environment. But more importantly, how does the world see the organization’s leader and their role and efforts? This assignment will afford you the opportunity to reflect on your own cognizance with regard to diversity, equity, inclusion, and your own identity as a leader. This paper is intended to allow you to think about how your ethnic background, age, and gender influence the way people see you. Feel comfortable discussing issues related to bias, favor, privileges, or disadvantages you experienced at work due to things about you that are visible to colleagues and that you cannot change easily – what makes you who you are.
Pre-Work (You can attach the answers in an appendix or keep them to yourself but they are not required to be included in the paper)

Take a bit of time to answer these four questions. Also, ponder the information and ideas that have been presented and discussed thus far in our course. Think about your own efforts as a leader (either in a private/personal setting or in a corporate setting). Then, jot down some personal notes in response to the questions presented.
1. What are some elements of your identity that you feel are obvious to other people?
2. What elements have made you feel different or unique? Are these in a good or bad
way?
3. Have you ever felt discriminated against because of one part of your identity?
4. If you have a choice, are there elements that you are less comfortable sharing about
yourself? What do you find yourself censoring or filtering about your identity?

Second, prepare a three to five-page paper. Consider your own Identity as well as your understanding of Diversity and the impact it continues to have in your life and the organizations that you are affiliated with. In essence, how does the world see you? Please use APA format to write your paper.

Format and editing:
1. Be concise. If you tend to write a lot, take time to edit your essay so that it meets the length requirements. Prepare a three-to-five-page paper, double-spaced, using 12 point fonts and one-inch margins.
2. Be professional. Even though this is an academic assignment, always be discreet and only write what can become a permanent record, able to be viewed publicly by anyone.
3. Please use APA format to write your paper. This means you should include a cover page and if references are used, they should be written using proper APA formatting (in text and ending references.
