My definition of spiritual care is providing care and support to an individual that meets their spiritual needs. This can include providing care and support to someone dealing with a life-threatening illness, guidance and support to someone grieving, or support to someone struggling with a difficult life situation. Spiritual care can also include providing support to someone who is seeking to find meaning and purpose in their life (Rego et al., 2020).
The definition of spiritual care in the readings differs from my own in that it focuses specifically on providing care and support to individuals dealing with a life-threatening illness. My definition of spiritual care is broader and includes providing care and support to individuals dealing with any difficult life situation, not just those dealing with a life-threatening illness. I believe that spiritual care is essential for all individuals, regardless of whether or not they are dealing with a life-threatening disease, because we all have spiritual needs that must be met to live happy and fulfilling lives.

I believe that spiritual care can help to provide comfort, guidance, and support to individuals who are dealing with difficult situations (Palmer et al.,2020).
