NOTE: Please read the assigned readings, (CHP 6 READING) After completing your readings from the textbook, respond to the following in a 2-3 page paper: (TEXTBOOK, ANGELA M. SABATES, SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY IN CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE) EXPLORING THE HUMAN CONDITION.
NOTE: ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTINGS:
1. Explain the benefits and drawbacks to the concept of persuasion.
2. There are several techniques that a person can use to persuade others. Some techniques can be overt and honest while others can be dishonest or deceptive. While there are typically benefits for the person doing the persuading, there can sometimes be some negative consequences for the person being persuaded. What techniques do you gravitate towards when you are in a place to persuade others? Include the effects of cognitive dissonance on you when you are in this position, and also the effects on the person who is being persuaded.
3. Decide if being skilled at persuading others is a positive or a negative skill to develop. Support your explanation with the textbook and other resources.
4. Within your position, explain how persuasion plays a role in a biblical worldview. Use Scripture to support your claims.
