Legal/Ethical Case Analysis Presentation Assignment Instructions and Outline Course Student Learning Outcomes: 1. Evaluate contemporary moral, legal, and ethical concepts that affect the practice of nurses and other health care providers. 2. Recognize ethical and legal principles that must be considered when making health care decisions. 3. Apply legal principles to hypothetical situations that confront nurses and other health care providers. 4. Discuss major ethical theories and principles influencing ethical decision-making. Instructions: 1. Read the Assignment Instructions and Grading Rubric completely before beginning assignment. 2. Self-select your topic area on âSign up for your Legal/Ethical Case Analysis Presentation HEREâ in the first week of the course. a. Topics align with the textbook chapters and/or other (more specific) case situations. b. You may also suggest an alternative topic by communicating with your instructor. 3. Complete literature review of selected topic, including course textbooks, required readings, and literature search using SCF Library databases, such as CINAHL. 4. Create a PowerPoint presentation of 20-25 slides with robust speaking notes (narration of your presentation typed into the ânotesâ field on each slide) and submit presentation to the assignment. Voice narration of speaking notes is optional. Any images or photographs should be purposefuland source credited (although does not count toward required reference sources). 5. Create a discussion post summarizing your case analysis (2-3 paragraphs with source citations) AND attach your completed Presentation to the Legal/Ethical Case Analysis DISCUSSION. Identify relevant rights, duties, authority, context, and capabilities of the participants. b. Identify at least two laws, administrative rules, or court decisions that relate to issue. c.
