The Psychoeducational Group Plan Assignment gives you an opportunity to plan for the rest
of this course. The topic you choose will be one you use for the two projects in this course. The
first project is to design a psychoeducational group. For this assignment you will choose a topic
for your psychoeducational group. Please note, you will record yourself presenting one session
of this group later in the course, so prepare accordingly.
INSTRUCTIONS
You will develop a psychoeducational group and submit your plan for review. Your
psychoeducational group should include all of the following:
Information about topic: this section should be approximately 1 page, the goal of this section is
to let the reader know what your group will be about in a succinct way. This section should
include at least three scholarly references. (Please see the library tutorial to verify your sources
are scholarly – Wikipedia, about.com, psychology today, etc. are not considered scholarly).
Group Outline: this section should include all of the following and should NOT be written as a
narrative, but as a sentence outline:

Target Audience
Two Goals
Two Objectives per goal (must be directly related to the goals – for a total of four
objectives)
Group rules
This assignment should be written in APA formatting and be a total of 3-5 pages. The goal is to
make a clear and succinct plan for your psychoeducational group.
