Overview
This paper (2-3 pages, APA style, double-spaced 12pt font, 1” margins) will give you an opportunity to use a primary source (i.e., scholarly journal article) rather than the textbook. You will read one of the three journal articles from a provided selection below.
Requirements include-
· 1-1.5 pages: A summary of the theory and research findings reported in the journal article
· 1-1.5 pages: Your own hypothetical or real examples or ideas related to the research findings

Instructions
Reading journal articles takes a lot more effort than reading a textbook. Please get started early and allow yourself time to read the article several times before you start writing. For your paper, you should focus on the main findings of the journal article for both the summary and application. Please do not attempt to summarize the entire article for your paper. When the article includes multiple studies, you can focus on one (or more) of the studies – although I recommend focusing on the introduction and discussion sections. Your paper will have one source (the 3 articles are available in .pdf format on Canvas for you to download/view).

General Paper Requirements
· Typed and double-spaced
· 2-3 pages (plus Reference page)
· Polished in terms of writing style and grammar/punctuation
o It is acceptable to use personal pronouns (i.e., I) for this paper
· Should not include any direct quotes from reading assignments
o Paraphrase information from readings using your own words
· Reference page in APA-style
o You should use parenthetical citations to cite your source(s) in the summary portion of your paper
· If your article has 3 or more authors, remember that you have to follow a special rule for in-text citations (et al.)
· APA-style title page and headings are not required for this paper

· If you are using a Mac or Google Docs, you will need to save your document in a .doc format when you upload to Canvas. I am unable to open files saved in .pages or other formats. You can upload your paper in .pdf format to best preserve your formatting if you run into any issues.
