Review the information presented in this lesson and your readings related to governmental organizations and NGOs. An Internet search using search terms such as “what is a NGO” may also be helpful.

Post answers to prompts.
Respond to the following prompts. Include personal and practice-related experiences or observations to support your response:
Identify a population and a governmental organization and a NGO that serve that population.
Compare and contrast how the two organizations serve the selected population by considering the following questions:
What services are provided to the population by the organizations?
Who governs and works for the two different organizations?
How are the organizations funded?
How are the mission and goals of the governmental organization and the NGO the same in regard to this population? How are they different?
How do members of the population interact with the governmental organization as compared to the NGO?
Do you feel one type of organization (governmental versus NGO) is more important or valuable than the other? Why or why not?

Consider and comment on the postings of your classmates. What surprised you about how governmental organizations address populations versus how NGOs address populations? Support or debate other students’ posts regarding the importance and value of these organizations. Use a professional tone when interacting with peers.
