This week, you will complete your first publish of your research paper. Go back to any feedback that you received on your Week 3 assignment. Be sure to implement the suggestions and fix any APA issues that you may have.
At this point, your paper should have the following components: An introduction, a literature review, and the first part of your methods section (research statement, variables, hypothesis, and population/sample). This week, you will continue working on your methods section, beginning from where you left off with your population/sample. You will wrap-up your first publish with a conclusion.
Discuss your data collection method.
At this point, you will decide if you are conducting a quantitative study or a qualitative study, or even a mixed methods study. Explain why you chose that design.
Describe how you will measure the independent variable (what you are planning to study)?
Are you using any instruments (tests, surveys, interview questions, observations, or measurements)? Note: If you are interested in survey research, you may want to read ahead in Chapter 5)
How will you collect that information (who, when, where)?
Include any incentives that participants receive for participating, or other details about your data collection methods.
Discuss reliability and validity.
How will you make sense out of the information you collected? How will you analyze your data?
Either quantitatively: comparing groups, treatments, finding correlations, statistics?
Or qualitatively: focus groups, grounded theory, finding themes, new concepts, theories?
Discuss the ethical considerations and any precautions that you would need to take to protect your participants.
Important: At the end of this week, you will submit your first publish of your paper, which should include an introduction, your literature review, a completed research proposal and a conclusion.
Again, be sure that your paper is still cohesive. If you need to go back to make revisions to earlier sections of your paper, please do so before the deadline.
