General Guidelines
Each week, you must provide an initial post responding to one of the discussion board prompt options. Please include the discussion prompt you are addressing in the subject line of your post. Once you are done, review the posts of other learners and engage in two responses to a learner, or learners, in any discussion board prompt; you may respond to the same learner twice in a conversation.
Your responses should be substantive and demonstrate your understanding of the material. In this, and in all of your courseroom posts, be sure to keep your tone respectful and professional. Use the name of the peer you are addressing. Cite any references according to APA guidelines.
Option 1
Three common issues supervisors have to address with staff and supervisees are disorganization and poor time management, poor interpersonal skills, and difficulty accepting or applying feedback. Have you encountered someone who struggled with one of these areas, or have you struggled with one? What was the likely function? Was the issue likely related to a skill deficit or performance deficit? What could have been done to improve the issue?
Option 2
Consider what type of work you would like to do once you become a BCBA and who you will oversee in this position. Identify some likely pinpoints. What are the pinpointed results and their corresponding pinpointed behaviors? Share the scenario you’ve created and paste your pinpoints in table format in your post.
Example: I plan to provide remote consultation to parents for commonly occurring childhood issues like sleep problems, enuresis, and general problem behavior. For parents to be successful in carrying out plans, I need to focus on those behaviors that will most likely indicate they are following through.
