The purpose of the assignment is to give students an opportunity to research a health issue and to write a persuasive rationale for a program. Another purpose is to practice technical writing.
The purpose of this assignment is to develop a rationale for a health program of your choosing. The paper should be a minimum of 6 pages and no more than 8 pages excluding cover page and references. Use APA format and double space.
Include the following in your rationale.
1. Title of the rationale
2. Write the content of the rationale; include the following headings in your content.
a. Background information such as demographics, community info, disease info: prevalence, morbidity and mortality in target population, expected outcomes. Identify the health problem from a global perspective. Show the relationship of the local health problem to the bigger problem.
b. Identify the health problem that is the focus of the rationale (problem statement) including why it is a problem and why it should be dealt with.. Use social math to help highlight economic impact.
c. Where the program will be implemented and who it will serve.
3. List the references used to create the rationale
