Learning Outcomes: ï· Demonstrate knowledge of the legislation â including scope of practice, professional standards and practice expectations â as they relate to practice in acute care practice settings. ï· Identify and advocate for the influence of inter-professional collaborative relationships on a quality practice environment in the acute care setting. ï· Demonstrate the ability to access and assess current, relevant, scholarly resources to prepare for caring for clients with acute illness. ï· Apply and analyze an ethical decision-making process to determine strategies for solutions for ethical dilemmas in nursing practice in acute care practice settings. ï· Demonstrate self-reflection and reflective journal writing to enhance learning and nursing practice. This assignment encourages growth within the following areas: ï· LPN Entry-Level Competencies. ELC 16: Maintains current knowledge about trends and issues that impact the client, the licensed practical nurse, the health-care team and the delivery of health services. ï· LPN Professional Standards. Standard 4: Ethical Practice, Indicator 8: Identifies ethical issues, recognizes potential conflicts; takes action to prevent or resolve them by communicating with the health care team and consulting with the appropriate people; and evaluates effectiveness of actions. 1.
