What did you learn by completing the Shoreline Health System Proposal? How did what you learned in the program help you address the issues occurring at Shoreline? How could your analysis of the case help you with future endeavors when working in the HIM field? How do you plan to keep up with the fast-changing pace of HIM? What journals, associations, or websites have you bookmarked or joined for future use?

Peer one: Veronica G.
I learned the business innovation techniques and how to analyze and assess assets in order to produce a functional and effective EHR system for a large facility. The HIM program help me evaluate the business structure and keep in mind the laws and regulation requirements. The case study has help me put into perspective the reality and the needs of business innovation at a high management level. In order to maintain with the ever changing HIM field I will stay connected with the AHIMA association and get involved with volunteering in areas where I am able to.
Peer Two: Brittany L.
The Shoreline Health System Proposal showed me how multiple departments must work together to implement project in healthcare. The proposal showed the multiple steps it takes for projects to be effective in healthcare. This program has taught me the importance of breaking down projects throughout this program we have submitted our assignments in three parts Milestone 1-Milestone 3. This process has helped me not to feel overwhelmed with big projects. It’s important to do thorough research when making a purchase of an EHR system and how it greatly impacts a healthcare organization. I learned the importance of teamwork working in the HIM department. One thing to do to keep up with the fast-changing pace of HIM is to ensure I am always being educated about the new changes in healthcare. I am a member of AAPC and AHIMA. I look forward to taking the RHIA exam.
