This project is the culmination of everything learned in class, bringing together all of the class work, reading and the first three assignments. Continuing with the health behavior used so far, students will propose a strategy for intervention, that will be presented to the class. Students should address the following:
What is the intervention strategy being proposed?
How many individuals will be served by this intervention within the identified community. How large is the community receiving the intervention and what percentage do you project will be impacted.
How is this intervention specifically tailored to the target population?
What resources are needed to implement this intervention?
What is the likelihood of this intervention being successful and why?
How will success be measured?
What barriers to success might there be? How can they be mitigated?
Students will write up their research as a 4-6 page paper. The final paragraph should be a summary of how the survey responses informed the improvement of the proposal. The final written proposal should reflect professional standards in the field, and be written in a concise and academic manner citing relevant resources to support your decisions, using APA writing style. Students will submit their paper via Canvas for grading and feedback from their instructor, which will help them with proposal presentation. (The paper is 15% of course grade; 30 points)
