Your paper should be 12-15 pages, plus the title page, table of contents, and reference/bibliography. It should include at least 7 outside references and complete APA (7th edition) citations. and formatting. Title: Mental Illness on the Rise
Topic: The problem I will be addressing is the prevalence of mental illness in The United States which is currently on a steady rise and the stigmas surrounding them which
has resulted in a lack of proper and easily accessed care.
Importance: This topic is important to me and the greater population because mental
health aligns with overall physical health. Our country spends over $4.1 trillion on
generalized healthcare, more than any other country in the entire world. If mental health
was taken as seriously as physical health, I believe that healthcare expenditure amount
would reside.
Stakeholders: The stakeholders interested in this topic are people who are living with
mental illnesses directly, their families, and caregivers. Others include practitioners such as specialists, therapists, nurses, doctors, policymakers, funding agencies, the media, and civil society organizations.
Thesis: Mental illness is very prevalent in the United States compared to other countries, and remains on a continuous rise. The stigma surrounding the topic of mental health, in general, has provided a lack of support for people living with these illnesses, therefore, adequate care and access are scarcely adding to the rise we have seen for many years thus far.
I am currently in the process of finding 7 scholarly sources to cite, help with that is appreciated. I need to submit those by this weekend 7/30 if possible.
